QuEra Quantum Computing Facility – Harwell

QuEra Computing Inc. is a quantum computing company based in Boston, Massachusetts, specialising in developing quantum computers using neutral atoms.

In order to expand their international operations to the UK, QuEra engaged T-SQUARED as their preferred specialist partner to fast-track the design, construction and validation of a new purpose-built quantum facility – one of the first of its kind on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus outside of the National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC).

Exceeding expectations with our delivery programme, T-SQUARED completed the facility’s bespoke design from a blank slate in just four weeks, showcasing our ability to deliver complex facilities at remarkable speed, thanks to our in-house specialist expertise.

A key part of this project is the Quantum Processing Unit (QPU) room – the most complex element of the facility, designed to ISO cleanroom standards with +/-1c temperature control. The facility has also been designed to achieve an impressive +/- 0.1c control in future, a critical requirement for quantum computing.

With a local office at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, we were ideally positioned for this project and were able to work in harmony with Bidwells and various other client contractors. T-SQUARED coordinated the whole project and ensured everything was delivered on time, on budget and far exceeded QuEra’s expectations.
