Modern Slavery Policy

Modern Slavery Act 2015 - Policy Statement

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that T-SQUARED has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chains.

This statement relates to the financial year ending 31 March 2026.

1. Our Organisation

T-SQUARED provides specialist design, construction, maintenance and validation services to complex and specialist industries in the UK.  This predominantly covers cleanrooms, laboratories and regulated facilities in sectors such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, quantum computing & space.

Our supply chain primarily consists of UK-based suppliers, many of whom are long-established partners, alongside a very limited number of overseas suppliers.

We do not operate in or procure any goods or services from anywhere considered to be “high risk” territories.

2. Our Commitment to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015

T-SQUARED is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chains.

We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers, and business partners.

As an equal opportunity employer, we’re committed to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment for all our staff.  We want all our staff to feel confident that they can expose wrongdoing without any risk to themselves.

We do not enter into business with any organisation, in the UK or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.

3. Our Policies and Internal Controls

We operate several internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Anti-bribery and Corruption Policy
  • Equal Opportunities Policy
  • Anti-harassment and Bullying Policy
  • Recruitment and Selection Policy
  • Whistleblowing Policy
  • Diversity and Inclusion Policy

All policies are available to our staff through our employee handbook.

Our whistleblowing procedures ensure that all employees can raise concerns confidentially and without fear of retaliation.

Our recruitment and people management processes ensure that all employees have the legal right to work in the UK and are protected from abuse, coercion, or exploitation.

4. Risk Assessment

Due to the nature of our business and the profile of our supply chain, we assess the overall risk of modern slavery within our operations as low. This assessment is based on:

  • The predominance of UK-based suppliers operating within a regulated environment
  • Long-standing relationships with established suppliers
  • The limited use of labour-intensive or high-risk supply chains

However, we recognise that modern slavery risks can exist in any sector and therefore remain vigilant in our approach.

5. Due Diligence and Supply Chain Management

We apply due diligence processes when onboarding new suppliers and subcontractors.  All subcontractors are subject to onboarding procedures which:

  • Assess potential modern slavery risks
  • Require confirmation of compliance with UK Modern Slavery legislation
  • Evaluate the adequacy of supplier policies and controls, where applicable

We also ensure that our standard terms and conditions include provisions addressing modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our supply chain is predominantly made up of long-established UK companies, which further supports our risk mitigation approach.

6. Training and Awareness

All employees receive modern slavery awareness training as part of their induction process. This ensures that staff:

  • Understand the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking
  • Are aware of the indicators of potential exploitation
  • Know how to report concerns appropriately

Additional guidance is provided to employees involved in procurement to ensure modern slavery considerations are embedded into supplier engagement and decision-making.

7. Measuring Effectiveness

We monitor the effectiveness of our approach through:

  • 100% completion of modern slavery awareness training for all staff as part of induction
  • Ongoing review of supplier onboarding processes
  • Regular policy reviews to ensure continued alignment with legislative requirements

We will continue to develop appropriate metrics as our processes evolve.

8. Continuous Improvement

T-SQUARED is committed to continuously improving its approach to tackling modern slavery. We will:

  • Review and update our policies annually
  • Enhance supplier due diligence processes where required
  • Maintain staff awareness through training and communication
  • Ensure modern slavery risks remain a key consideration in procurement and business operations

This statement has been approved by Group Finance Director (Mark McFarlane) and will be reviewed and updated, as required.
