Milton Park

Pioneers in cystic fibrosis research, our client is an organisation specialising in pharmaceutical research and development. T-SQUARED stepped in to completely refit and upgrade 6 laboratories at their Milton Park facility, allowing them to continue their innovative work creating transformative medicines for people with serious diseases.

Our client needed an upgrade to their existing laboratories to enable them to increase their manufacturing output, improve their processes and continue their groundbreaking work creating life changing medicines for those suffering with serious illnesses. T-SQUARED were chosen to redesign the layouts, construct and completely refit the facilities at Milton Park with to improve existing workflows and allow more efficient use of the space, all whilst the building remained operational.

A complete refit of a building that was still manufacturing medicines throughout the course of the project required precise planning and co-ordination, along with constant communication with the client. The client also did not have the capacity to fully review and assess the design before the required start dates, so T-SQUARED had to ensure the design met the brief with limited feedback. The project consisted of multiple phases, with each having to be completed in sequence to allow the client to maintain continuous operation. During construction, we reacted quickly, making changes to the design based on mid-project feedback.

By working closely with the client, utilising our extensive in-house expertise and adapting dynamically, we were able to deliver every phase of the project on time and without any disruption to the client’s ongoing work. The result was 6 CL2 laboratories delivered in just 8 months. They have been fully fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and designed from the ground up to maximise efficiency and output which will allow the client to scale up their existing operation and continue delivering life changing work.
