    Turnaround

Whilst not directly contracted through T-SQUARED, two of our cleanroom team members held key roles within the development of two of the UKs most significant satellite testing facilities of recent years, as lead consultant cleanroom designer on the Harwell campus R100 project, and as client side PM on the Phase 1B element, delivered for RAL Space in 2018.

The world class facility is home to the UK’s largest and most sophisticated space design, production and research facilities and is an extension of the existing laboratory and includes the following:

  • 4.7m diameter Space Test Chamber which can test minibus-sized satellites for the harsh conditions of space ranging from -180C to +100C.
  • Vibration equipment – where thrust shakers will be used to simulate the vibration of launch and test the satellite in 3 axes
  • Acoustic Testing Facility
  • ISO Class 8 general circulation with high spec filtration systems and EMS audit monitoring
  • ISO Class 5 and 6 cleanrooms
  • Dedicated Optical Ground Support Equipment (OGSE) Room
  • Cleanroom crane capacity of 5 tonnes and hook height of 9m
